Our History

The production of premium hays on the Blood Tribe Reserve began in 1997 under the name Blood Tribe Forage Processing Plant. Its production, enhanced by location and growing environment, has proved to be a premier product for dairy, equine and pet food end users and providers alike. In an effort to deploy its rights and resources in a more active approach to its commercial economy, the Blood Tribe has engaged Indigena Capital to partner this long-term forage and agriculture venture, ensuring the company has a strong capital base to meet its capital expansion and operating needs. Since the formation of the joint venture, Kainai Forage has partnered with five world class forage growers and begun its $45 million expansion plan to build additional storage barns, dryers and new press and loading facilities.
