Kainai Forage Surpasses 2024 Record with Historic 2026 First Cut Harvest

Stand Off, AB (August 17 2026)Kainai Forage is proud to announce the completion of the largest first-cut Timothy hay harvest in the company’s history, with an outstanding 55,000 metric tonnes of premium Timothy hay harvested and safely stored. The result surpasses the previous record set in 2024 and reflects the hard work and commitment of everyone involved.

Strong growing conditions and a harvest window largely uninterrupted by rain allowed our team and partners to move hay efficiently from the field into storage throughout the 2026 first cut. The crop came in at a record volume, with a high proportion achieving premium grades that we are excited to deliver to customers around the world. These results marked a tremendous bounce back from 2025, when difficult weather had a major impact on the harvest.

Harvesting thousands of acres and moving that amount of forage from the field into storage in a short period takes an incredible team effort. Our Kainai Forage employees, AOHKII/BTAP and farming partners worked well across every part of the operation to keep the crop moving. Their coordination, long days and commitment to doing the job right made this record first cut possible.

As Kainai Forage continues to grow, achievements like this reinforce our commitment to providing a dependable supply of premium forage to international customers while creating long-term opportunity and prosperity for the Kainai / Blood Tribe. We are proud of what has been accomplished and look forward to building on this strong start through the remainder of the 2026 harvest season.
